NOTE: DISEASE SAMPLES MUST ARRIVE THE DAY PRIOR (BY 2:30 PM) TO THE TESTING DATE TO BE PROCESSED THE SAME WEEK.

USPS, FedEx, and UPS typically arrive by 5 pm daily.

Samples submitted without a completed submission form and/or with improperly labeled tubes will incur a fee, and results may be delayed.

Each tube must be clearly labeled with both the tube number and animal ID, which must correspond to the information provided on the submission form. Submission forms must be completed legibly.

We strongly encourage clients to include farm or owner initials on each tube (in addition to the tube number) to minimize the risk of misidentification.

Miss the deadline? Don’t worry! Once your samples are at the lab they will be safely stored for later testing. Samples are typically stable for up to two weeks after they are drawn. The lab may reject samples that are rotten, or hemolyzed, coagulated, or contain insufficient serum volume to complete testing. To help prevent sample degradation, samples must be drawn under sanitary conditions and shipped with a gel ice pack. Blood samples should be collected in plastic red-, yellow-, or pruple-top tubes; glass tube are not recommended.

Please note: Our testing prices have inceased as of January 2026.

Companion Animal Sample Setup Fees

Setup fees apply per submission (not per sample). For example, whether you submit 1 sample with 2 tests (FCOV, FPV), the setup fee is $40. The setup fee is still $40 if submitting 3 samples for the same 2 tests (FCOV,FPV).

Note: For bulk or high-volume submissions, setup fees may be reduced or waived on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us to discuss.

Storage & Shipping

Please allow 2mL of whole blood or 1mL of serum per animal for all tests. When requesting a Biosecurity Panel with a pregnancy test, additional blood may be preferred (≥ 3 mL). Our office accepts packages from the following companies: FedEx, UPS, and USPS. Samples must be refrigerated and shipped with ice packs (please refrain from freezing). For best results, the laboratory must process any disease samples within two weeks of being drawn.
